The island scape features far fewer villas and residences, which translates to idyllic, untouched scenery and more space to play, relax and explore. Easy-access accessible resort villas, located on the ground floor with wide doorways and accessible showers, with the possibility of installing additional ramp access to villas. Use of a beach wheelchair and floating wheelchair for swimming, Dive Butler instructors with guided PADI open water scuba certification for those with movement disabilities. RESIDENCES ACCESSIBILITY FEATURES
All villas at Amilla Maldives, except the Treetop Pool Villas, are on the ground floor level for easily accessible accommodations. Many of the villas and residences have accessible features. We can organise a bed lift and pool lift for easy pool access, with sufficient notice. Indoor and outdoor showers are walk-in, with shower seats available. Bathtubs and private pools are not walk-in. Guest requests are handled personally by your Katheeb. Each residence has ground-floor bedrooms. The residences are two storeys, with stairs to the upper level. Villas and residences are extremely spacious, making it easy to move around with a wheelchair. Fire alarms are equipped with flashing lights, and in-villa phones light up when they ring to create more hearing accessible rooms. Smart TVs inside all villas and residences have subtitles and other accessible functions.
ACCOMMODATION
We have modified both over water and beach pool villa types to accommodate accessibility particularly for wheelchair users. Our villas are open plan and spacious, with single level throughout and installed ramps where needed. Our beds are above 60cm in height and we have a transfer board to assist if required.
BATHROOMS
Our washbasins in these villas have enough space underneath for a wheelchair, the taps have been moved to the side for easy reach, and the mirrors are lowered allowing allowing grooming at the vanity area. Our showers have a hand held option, as well as a table to allow easy reach for toiletries. We can provide a shower chair, and hand rails are installed to assist with transfers. We have safety rails attached to the toilet to allow for easy movement, and a commode available on request.
